What You Need to Get Started

Before you begin, make sure you have:

✅ An active account with your current phone/fax provider

✅ A copy of your latest bill

That’s it! Now, let’s get your fax number ported.

Step 1: Sign Up or Log In

If you’re new to WestFax, sign up for our HIPAA-compliant cloud fax service. During sign-up, you’ll choose a temporary fax number, but don’t worry—your existing number will soon replace it.

If you’re already a customer and want to port an existing fax number, simply log into the porting portal with your WestFax account and start the process. (Has to be an account administrator.)

Step 2: Submit Your Port Request

Simply fill out the porting form directly in our portal. In the past, this process required manual submission and back-and-forth emails, but now it’s much more streamlined.

Step 3: Complete the Transition

Once your port is approved and you have a completion date, on that day at 10 AM PST, your old fax number will now function seamlessly within WestFax’s secure cloud faxing platform. You’ll be able to send, receive, and manage faxes digitally through our portal or API from your newly ported number, with secure storage and access options that meet compliance requirements.
